HAKONE JAPAN
Family Fun Things to Do with Kids

Hakone Open-Air Museum
Completely flipping the script on traditional “don’t touch” museums by giving young kids a massive, 70,000-square-meter outdoor playground to explore. Instead of staying quiet and walking in straight lines, kids are encouraged to run along garden paths, climb inside world-class art installations, and explore hidden mazes.
Find more information about attractions on their Official Site. The Cheapest Tickets change constantly but as of May 2026, our affiliate, Klook has tickets for only $11.35 USD for adults which we use ourselves.

Hakone Venetian Glass Museum
A place where fantasy comes to life. Instead of just looking at art, kids can become creators at the hands-on workshops, using special sandblasting tools to blast custom designs onto their own glass souvenirs. With outdoor paths to explore, a castle-like villa housing historic treasures, and a café featuring live Italian musicians, it offers a fun, sensory-rich adventure that keeps young minds completely enchanted.
Visit their Official Site for more information about their works. The Cheapest Tickets as of May 2026 are our affiliate, Klook, at only $10.09 USD for adults. We use Klook ourselves and like their KlookCash (point system) with every purchase as well as bonuses for uploading reviews and pictures after our visits.

Hakone Sightseeing Cruise
A thrilling, swashbuckler-themed voyage across Lake Ashi. Kids will love exploring the elaborate, pirate-inspired cabins, while parents can relax and take in breathtaking views of Mount Fuji and the floating Hakone Shrine torii gates.
