Taipei

TAIPEI 101

Once the world’s tallest building, its panoramic views from the observation deck will excite both kids and adults. We were fascinated by the massive tuned mass damper—a giant golden ball that helps stabilize the tower. Children under 115 cm (3ft 9in) are free with a paying adult.

The base is a mall full of high-end stores like Prada, Gucci, Louis Vuitton. You can grab a bite to eat at the food court, 7 Eleven, or the world-famous Din Tai Fung. The line for Din Tai Fung can reach 2+ hours. We recommend a short walk or cab ride to the A13 or A4 locations.

You can find more information on their Official Site. The Cheapest Tickets change constantly but as of May 2025, Thrillophilia has observatory tickets for only $8 USD. We are not sure of any additional checkout fees since we haven’t purchased with Thrillophilia in the past. Our Affiliate tickets are $18.39 USD for adults via Klook, which we use ourselves.

Taipei Children’s Amusement Park

Half a mile from Shilin Night Market, this affordable amusement park offers a fun mix of classic rides like a Ferris wheel, carousel, and bumper cars. The lines do get long (45+ mins) on weekends and days that local schools are out.
Come prepared rain for shine since this is an outdoor park. It’s a great stop alongside neighboring attractions like the National Taiwan Science Education Center, Taipei Astronomical Museum and a large public playground. Admission is free for children ages 6 and under.

Visit their Official Site for live information on parking, crowd, and ride waiting times. The Cheapest Tickets as of May 2025 are via KKDay at $6.22 USD. We haven’t purchased with KKDay before but never heard anything bad. Our Affiliate tickets cost $6.29 USD via Klook which we mostly use. We like the 180 day cancellation policy and earn KlookCash (point system) with every purchase as well as bonuses for uploading reviews and pictures after use.

Maokong Gondola

Get the best view of the city in a relaxing cable car ride above lush mountains and tea plantations. You can kick up the adventure thrill with a glass-floor “Crystal Cabins” upgrade. We recommend the unlimited pass if you also like to experience nature and outdoor fun. Hop on and off with stops that include temples, trails, and tea houses. Ages 5 and under are free.
Be sure to visit the Giant Pandas next door at the Taipei Zoo. General admission is a little more than $3 USD as of May 2025. The zoo is huge and can definitely fill one entire day. The pandas, koalas and pangolins are nearby the zoo entrance if you just want a quick visit.

Use their Official Site to check their maintenance schedule for closures. As of May 2025, the Cheapest Tickets are $10.19 USD via Klook for an unlimited day pass with free cancellation within 180 days of purchase. Our Affiliate tickets are the same via Klook.
