Shanghai Disneyland

It’s the world’s newest and most modern Disneyland. This park is packed with both classic Disney charm and modern, adventurous attractions. Perfect for families traveling with kids of all ages. Children under 3 years old get in for free.
We particularly love Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for the Sunken Treasure. This ride was a great surprise that made us feel like we were in the movie. It blends cutting-edge technology, stunning visuals, and an immersive story that’s fun for both younger kids and adults without being too intense. For more high-energy or slightly older kids (and adults), our top favorites include Zootopia: Hot Pursuit, TRON Lightcycle Power Run, and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, which deliver thrills for big family fun.
We enjoyed Shanghai Disneyland in one full day, but if you want to take it slower, two days gives you much more breathing room to do popular rides, catch shows, and soak in the magic. To skip long lines, we used Disney Premier Access (DPA), which is available on the Shanghai Disney Resort app for most of the major attractions.
If you only have one day, be sure to start early and consider an early access pass which helped us beat the crowds. Even with DPA, some time slots can sell out quickly, so plan your must-rides and reserve your access in the app as soon as you can. Finally, don’t skip the parades and stage shows. They are full of magic and emotion, and though mostly in Mandarin, the storytelling and choreography transcend language.

We are not sure of any additional checkout fees since we haven’t purchased with Trip in the past. Our Affiliate tickets are $65.19 USD for adults via Klook, which we use ourselves.

Yu Garden

Yu Garden was magical for Chinese New Year. It’s a peaceful escape in the heart of Shanghai that delights families with its winding stone paths, koi ponds, and beautifully carved pavilions. Kids will love wandering through hidden corners, crossing classic zig-zag bridges, and watching the vibrant energy of the surrounding bazaar come to life.
Keep an eye on your little ones as you move through the busier areas, and don’t worry about skipping certain sections if it feels like too much. Right nearby you’ll find plenty of gentler alternatives, including quieter tea houses and shaded courtyards perfect for a break. Yu Garden makes a lovely addition to any Shanghai with kids itinerary, offering history, beauty, and memorable moments the whole family can enjoy. Yaoxue Snow World

Yaoxue Snow World instantly sparks kids’ excitement with its snowy slides, icy play zones, and winter-themed activities. Sled, build snow creations, and explore frosty tunnels inside a safe, temperature-controlled space that works year-round.
Parents will love the simple layout and easy warm-up spots but bring extra layers since the cold can feel intense. With nearby family-friendly dining and shopping, it makes an easy half-day outing for any Shanghai with kids’ itinerary.
